Update and Considerations on Using the Latest Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Specification
The WAI-ARIA Accessible Rich Internet Applications Suite, provides guidance for Web content and Web applications with dynamic content and advanced user interface controls developed with Ajax, HTML, JavaScript, and related technologies which may not be accessible to persons with disabilities. This presentation will provide a brief overview of WAI-ARIA, review what is new in ARIA 1.1, discuss how to avoid misusing ARIA and cover considerations for using ARIA in touch screen and responsive environments. The goal of the presentation will be to help developers and those providing accessibility guidance to understand the power of ARIA and potential impact of misuse in the context of the latest version of this specification.
